As ever, it’s vinyl only on a pair of Technics 1210s covering 60s, 70s, soul, funk, jazz and boogaloo with a side helping of reggae, afrobeat, rare grooves and dance floor jazz. Joining me for our first outing are guest DJs Sean Treacy (Morecambe) and Ray Greening (Doin it in the Park Middlesbrough). Sean last played here two years ago and went down a storm with his sets of boogie, rare groove and classic re-edits. Ray and I have shared many a great night over the past 25 years in various venues up and down the country so expect to hear the best in soul and rare groove.
Sat April 29th – Guest DJ, another Teessider, Craig Walton. Craig runs Teesside’s premier jazz night ‘Favourite Things’ so expect to hear everything from swing and samba through to jazz funk/fusion and dancefloor jazz. If you think John Coltrain and George Benson mixed with Tito Puente, Mario Biondi and Gerardo Frisina, you won’t go far wrong.
